Looks great, thanks Christofer and Jonathan. I hope to find some video brightness controls on the player eventually so i can dump VLC. Great job so far, thank you all so much for this treasure.

In the next version see if you can improve opening FLV vedio files since I tried fast forwading on it and it just reseted the vedio.

Very Very Nice, i hope it’s a lightweight gui

    4. teknologist | February 4th, 2009 at 3:41 am

BTW…what do you think about having a login for last.fm and scrobbling enabled? They have a nice API for doing just that and I think having this ability to scrobble would allow me to NOT have any other media player open or running but Knataris.

    5. NightSider | February 4th, 2009 at 2:30 pm

I like the current skin…are you considering adding a skin switch or the change will be permanent?

    6. PJ | February 6th, 2009 at 11:54 pm

Me again.. If you need some inspiration for other skin designs, the best I’ve seen is KMPlayer with the WMP11 Classic skin by phamtieugiao, as the layout is just right. From what you have now and with a little help, it won’t be long before Kantaris is the best player in the world, bravo!

It looks really nice. Good job guys. Since it is developed with mono, it would be great to port the Kantaris Media Player to linux and unix operating systems. Thanks for your work.

Hopefully the next version won’t be hogging much of the computer processes; I know it’s not too much but making those visualizations take up less of the computer’s effort to run smoothly would be gr8. Otherwise keep on adding more file types and improving any video syncing and such :p

PS. The new look is pretty cool, and necessary.

    19. lorenzo | May 2nd, 2009 at 8:04 am

Sooooo, when is this new version of your awesome player being released? I eagerly await.

    20. jason | May 4th, 2009 at 8:28 pm

Dont forget to put the Name on the title bar .Then others looking at the screen can see the name of this great player.

This is great media player .Thankyou.

    21. TDpro | May 6th, 2009 at 1:43 pm

Nice media player. There are only 2 things. The visualisation is sometimes for a short time black (the buttons are then too black). I think its refreshing or someting but it’s really anoying… The other thing is that the buttons are responding a bit slow. It’s a nice media player, but I think it needs some more improvement for a world wide use like wmp or vlc.
Thats my comment, I hope you will lurn from it.
      Much updating pleasure ^^

    22. sean_duncan | May 20th, 2009 at 8:47 pm

I really think the UI of the current player is fantastic, I love it, and the it would be a shame to move away from it to the above pictured interface (it looks too close to a win-amp knock off) . the Current design is really slick and much better IMHO. Fantastic player regardless, great job, thanks!

    23. G L Narasimhan | May 25th, 2009 at 2:37 pm

Thanks indeed for the Kantaris. I have tried various players but then Kantaris is more than satisfactory. The music visuals are terrific. Looking forward to updates.

      Best wishes.

      G L Narasimhan.

Is there any way to make the player window always on top? VLC has this option and I really miss it in Kantaris.

    25. Evert | June 3rd, 2009 at 9:47 am

Also looking forward to this release which you hope to release in February… 2010? ;-)

      (Keep up the good work!)

    26. kantaris_fan | November 24th, 2009 at 10:32 am

think it is fantastic! Great display for the player, can play just about anything….which leads me to my next question. Is there a way to watch a flash player streaming from a website. Was thinking if you could simply right click on the flashplayer screen from the url and it would ask to open with kantaris. This feature would be great for all video formats instead of typing in the url every time to watch the streaming. Overall, a great job!!! Just add this feature and we can all be lazy and we wouldn’t have to type the url!!

    27. Christofer | December 8th, 2009 at 3:53 pm

We will see on your request.
But its quite a task from browser’s plugin/AddONs to write that.I don’t think we can support it soon.

      Thanks for you feedback

      Best Wishes,

Is there a slow motion button in Kantaris 0.6.4?

    29. Sonam | March 8th, 2010 at 1:36 pm

      Sorry,
There is nothing such as slow motion right now.

      Sonam Singh,

Just thought since it is based on VLC it might, but thanks anyways.

    31. Paul Harrington | March 12th, 2010 at 11:10 pm

Hey everyone, love the software, especially the apple trailer function. It’s not working so great at the moment, most of the thumbnails for the trailers are all the same. Is there a way to clear the thumbnail cache, or has apple gone and changed something on you?

Also, can you add an option to stop the borders sliding in and out on full screen, the video resizing is a bit distracting

      Thanks!
      Paul

    32. Sonam | March 13th, 2010 at 6:06 pm

That thumbnail issue is a bug.We will correct it.
We will add that option in next releases if not the immediate one.

      Thanks,
      Sonam Singh,
      Kantaris Team
