      Hi Sonam!

Is DLNA support in your plans?

      Cheers.

    2. Sonam | December 14th, 2009 at 5:05 pm

      Whats DLNA?Please Elaborate

    3. Lorenz | December 17th, 2009 at 1:59 am

The standard being used by new devices, such as the PS3, to share media across wireless networks easily. New TV’s, consoles, blu-ray players etc are employing this protocol.

So I guess I am asking whether you have plans to expand your media player in to also being a media server and support DLNA.

      Hello,
      Thanks for clarification .
Well,DLNA is Not in nearby targets. It might be a target after some time..

      Hi there

Same here, wishing DLNA-support. Though not Server (there are already enough), but renderer/player.

As it happens, there is close to no nice software DLNA renderer.

      Would be great…

We will see if we can start work on it.The chances are lesser because of very few requests and other features already in pipeline to be implemented but not nil. Thanks for the feedback.

well need not to say that yours is an excellent player. The feature I love the most is online subtitle downloading.. but perhaps i was wondering, whether there is a feature of saving the downloaded subtitles to my computer so that its not required to download every time from the internet. I did try to hunt for this feature, but unfortunately, I couldn’t! So It would be of real help if you may wish to tell how do I do this (i.e. if it is possible) or you may consider my request to allow saving of subtitles in your future release.

      Thanks and Congrats!

You can find subtitle files at
      C:\program files\kantaris\cache\sub

If you are using Windows Vista or Windows 7,You might need to click compatibility files(at top) when you reach the path c:\program files\kantaris\cache.

      Thanks,

Hi, just had a quick glance and I have to say, I like this player.
      Just two things:
Is it possible to have Kantaris start in fullscreen mode on a specified screen (I’d like it to always run on my tv, fullscreen).
Is there a way to disable resizing the movie whenever I move the mouse and the controls are shown?

      Thanks, Calu

    10. Sonam | February 22nd, 2010 at 3:08 pm

      Hey Calu,
You need to double click the screen for the fullscreen view.
You can’t have it on start of kantaris.
I am sorry You can’t avoid that resizing issue too.

      Thanks

when do you think the next version will be out? :)

    12. Joe | April 24th, 2010 at 6:14 am

Just found your player and I like it alot, so thanks for that. I see it’s supposed to play m4a files but If I load one into Kantaris I can see it in the playlist but nothing else happens. No music. Any suggestions?

    13. Sonam | April 26th, 2010 at 6:25 am

Does that happened with a single file or multiple m4a files.I would recommend to drop the file at info@kantaris.org ,I would like to try it myself to check if thats our player limitation or it has something to do with file.
      Thanks,

Kantaris saves subtitles at C:\Program Files\Kantaris\Cache\Sub\
where c:\program files is the installed location.
If you are using Windows Vista,You would have to click “Compatibility files” at the top.

      Thanks.

      Hi Sonam,

Kantaris is a very fine player. But off late I get the below exception when multiple files are added to playlist.

      ************** JIT Debugging **************
To enable just-in-time (JIT) debugging, the .config file for this
application or computer (machine.config) must have the
jitDebugging value set in the system.windows.forms section.
The application must also be compiled with debugging
      enabled.

      For example:

When JIT debugging is enabled, any unhandled exception
will be sent to the JIT debugger registered on the computer
rather than be handled by this dialog box.

      //End of exception message//
How do I enable the JIT debugging and solve this error?

      Thanks.
